Sundarban, a Place of Tourist Attraction


Sundarban, the largest mangrove region in the world, attracts millions of tourists for its treasures and innate natural beauty. It is situated in the southeast corner of Bangladesh. Your mind will be refreshed by world-famous Royal Bengal tigers, beautiful spotted deer, 120 different species of fish, a large variety of birds, 50 species of reptiles, eight species of amphibians and with so many living creatures. The name Sundarban comes from the word "Sundory trees" which are found in large numbers in Sundarban. UNESCO declared Sundarban as a World Heritage Site in 1997.
If you like to visit this forest, you need permission from the forest department in Khulna. You have to take cholera vaccine, anti-malaria vaccine, insect repellent cream, a first aid box and tropical dress as security gears.
There are so many tourist spots that the tourists will like very much. These spots are as follows:
Katka:
If you are a bird-lover, you must visit Katka point to watch different varieties of birds from 40 ft high wooden bird-watching tower. Besides that you can see wild animals like Royal Bengal tigers, deer, monkeys and owls. There is also a beautiful sea beach where you can enjoy a lot.
Dublar Char:
It's a beautiful small island in the southern region of Sundarban. It is famous for fishing. You can reach Dublar Char by launch or speed boat. It is also well-known for Rash Meal and holy bath, a Hindu festival taking place for last 200 years. This ritual is a highly enchanting and exciting event for the tourists.
Heron Point:
It's a beautiful spot that is famous for spotted deer, Royal Bengal tigers and rare wild animals. The scenic beauty of nature of Heron point attracts the tourists very much. It is also noteworthy for deer, monkeys, birds and crocodiles.
Tin Kona Island:
If you want some relief from the busy town life, the Tin Kona Island is the best resting place for you. This island is famous for tigers, deer and rare wild animal.
Karamjol:
Karamjol is the fantastic spot for the true nature lover. You can watch lots of birds, net-fishing in the river by fishermen, lifestyle of villagers and watch lots of animals like monkeys, deer, foxes, etc.
